Pre-Hajj Preparation
1. It is recommended for all guests to complete the annual medical physical examination with their primary physicians before embarking on journey to Hajj.
2. It is recommended for all guests to complete Wills’ (Islamic way) with family attorneys before embarking on journey to Hajj.
3. It is recommended to all guests to make peace on any rancor, or dispute unresolved before embarking on journey to Hajj.
4. All guests should make sure funds are earmark for families left at home for basic expenses such as food, transportation, rent, utility etc.
5. It is recommended for all guests to settle all debts, or properly document debts unpaid, and make sure people know about the debts.
6. It is recommended for all guests who are not self-employed to turn in vacation request at least three months ahead of departure date.
7. It is recommended for all guests to complete regular FLU shot, and Meningitis shot before embarking on journey to Hajj.
8. It is recommended for male guests to pack at least seven pairs of (pants and shirts, or male Jalabia) non transparent or provocative design or logo, summer wears.
9. It is recommended for female guests to pack seven FEMALE JALABIA (non transparent full body length gown) with matching IJAB (head cover). The Jalabia should not be tight or display the contours of the body. The IJAB should cover head and shoulder.
10. It is recommended for all guests to pack adequate under garments for 17 days (for males), and 21 days (for females).
11. It is recommended for all guests to pack snacks such as cashew nuts, cookies, peanuts, raisins, crackers, and any other favorite dry snacks. These finger foods come handy at the tent city (MINA) because food becomes rare commodity during Hajj.
12. Bring with you cold and flu non-prescribed medicine (off the counter) such as Robitusin, Nyquil, Thera-Flu, Tylenol, or other favorite brands. YOU SHOULD CONSULT YOUR PRIMARY PHYSICIANS BEFORE TAKING THESE MEDICINES.
13. Bring your ATM (Automatic Teller Machine Cards) cards because there are several banks with ATM facilities. You are advice to inform your bank about your travel. Failure to do so may result to ACCESS DENIAL of your ATM CARDS. There are fees associated with the use of your ATM CARDS. You should consult your bankers before travel.
14. Bring spending money at least $500 (cash). Credit cards are acceptable in few places. Travelers’ checks are hard to convert to cash. Some establishments do not welcome travelers’ checks.
15. It is recommended for all guests to bring CAMP SLEEPING BAGS because these bags are needed in TENT CITY (MINA).
16. All guests are limited to two check-in (2 LUGGAGES) bags; each luggage should not weigh more than 22.7 kilos (50IBS). One carry-on weigh should not exceed 11.8 kilos (26IBS).
17. It is recommended for all guests to bring a pair sunglasses, and small umbrella.
18. It is recommended for all guests to bring bath soap, toothpaste, bath and wash towels, and body lotion.
19. The above items are recommendations except item #16. Additional items will be added as needed.
